Detail of "Rose Garden Friends," oil on linen, 5"x 7"
Private collection
This is a detail of a mini sketch from a new series I am beginning. Every winter I tuck myself away in my studio and birth something new for the year. It is joyfully challenging to include my favorite subjects; flower gardens and my daughter. Stay tuned... I'll be posting others soon.
Lisa, this is so beautiful, I just love it, so sweet, just gorgeous. Your blog is wonderful, so colorful and peaceful.
ReplyDeleteHi Tina,
ReplyDeleteThank you for your nice comments. Sometimes I like showing details because I love how the paint mixes on the canvas. Also seeing the brush strokes are exciting to me!
Love the pink skintones and loose brushwork, Lisa! Can't wait to see more of these.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Diane. It's such a pleasure to paint beautiful subjects! Aaah, life is good! :0)

This is just lovely Lisa. The colors are beautiful and I like the way you handled her face. Thanks for the nice comment on my blog.
ReplyDeleteI thought of Charles W. Hawthorne and what he says about not painting every feature on a child wearing a hat that is shaded from the sun. Your painting is a beautiful example of what he was talking about.
